Printronix goes for Peak Technologies

Peak Technologies' SAP Certified S/3 Interface is to be used in Printronix distribution/manufacturing facilities worldwide
Printronix has selected the SAP Certified, Peak S/3 Interface solution to integrate their JIT operations with wireless data capture feeding into their SAP R/3 system world-wide. The Peak S/3 Interface is being rolled out to four Printronix sites, Memphis, TN, and Irvine, CA in the US plus Holland and Singapore.

Printronix had already achieved many of the manufacturing/distribution objectives inherent in a JIT/Kanban environment.
To further increase efficiencies in their facilities, they recognised that substantial benefits were achievable through the use of wireless technology.
During the extensive evaluation process, Printronix outlined their ROI goals and time frame for execution.Further reading

After examining several different options, Printronix concluded that Peak's consulting services and software offered unmatched value and expertise.
In addition to AIDC consulting, Printronix looked to Peak for guidance in the area of change management; moving from paper-based processes to wireless technology in the warehouse.
Printronix's Memphis, TN facility is the first site scheduled to implement Peak's S/3 Interface, an interface certified by SAP.
This solution streamlines the entire manufacturing process by enabling manufacturing personnel to accomplish a 'one-shot' scan at a given work cell and record all pertinent information into SAP R/3.
This process also provides the crucial synchronisation of material and information within the JIT manufacturing operation.
This functionality of the Peak S/3 Interface was one of the key differentiating factors in selecting Peak Technologies as Printronix total solution partner.
'Printronix has been a valued strategic partner for Peak over the years.
With the inclusion of our Peak S/3 Interface solution, we are proud to be an integral part of their distribution and manufacturing centre of excellence,' said Jim Wyner, president and chief operating officer for Peak.
'This further demonstrates Peak's capability as a single-source provider for SAP customers seeking to achieve operational efficiencies gained through wireless automation.' This agreement is consistent with Moore's growth strategies of growing the forms and labels business and becoming a leader in delivering digital information services.
'To take full advantage of JIT practices already in place, we required a partner who had the necessary solutions outlined in our objectives, clearly understood our environment, and could implement the solution within our time frame.
Peak was capable of meeting all of these requirements,' said Patrick Coyne, Manager of manufacturing information Systems at Printronix.
'We look forward to working with Peak's Value Delivery Team in realising the benefits and efficiencies gained through this integration.'
