eMatrix is the backbone collaboration system for many enterprises, linking employees, suppliers, partners and customers to each other as well as to the corporate information they require.

The high volume of exchanged information comes in multiple formats, which often necessitates that all parties own copies of the authoring applications.

AutoVue resolves this issue by providing native viewing capabilities for over 200 engineering, office and graphics formats, all in a single interface.

AutoVue for JAVA, Cimmetry's thin-client solution, allows users to view and redline over 200 document formats using only a Web browser.

Administration is a simple process, with all deployment and maintenance occurring solely on the server side.

This web-based solution is not a cut down version of Cimmetry's AutoVue product, but contains the full feature set and functionality of the standalone version.

AutoVue for JAVA never transmits the original document over the Internet, only a rendered view of that document, safeguarding the intellectual property of the organization.

From within their Web browsers, eMatrix users can navigate through the documents and drawings located in the eMatrix repository.

When a user chooses to view a file, AutoVue for JAVA is launched.

Users can then view and annotate these documents and save their markup files in the repository.

Markups are automatically associated with the original document and added to the workflow.

AutoVue's markup capabilities allow users to annotate documents with shapes, text, hyperlinks, sticky-notes and embedded objects.

AutoVue's format support includes both 2D and 3D formats such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, CADKEY, HPGL/2, CGM, TIFF, CALS, PDF, MS Office, Mechanical Desktop, Pro/ENGINEER, SolidWorks, SolidDesigner, Solid Edge and STEP.

Mark Bierschied, director of integrations for MatrixOne noted, 'AutoVue's powerful document and drawing based collaboration is an important complement to the business process collaboration of eMatrix.

As companies work cooperatively with partners and customers, Cimmetry and MatrixOne will allow rich collaboration among the people and processes that are the foundation of a company's success.'
