Through CapacityWeb, OEMs can access a global community of best-in-class suppliers, pre-qualified for their ability to consistently meet the OEM's process, quality and delivery requirements, and engage in synchronous or asynchronous collaboration.

AutoVue for Java, by Cimmetry Systems, provides the necessary viewing and markup capabilities for the partnering members to cooperate visually on all aspects of a project.

AutoVue provides for the viewing and markup of over 200 engineering and office formats allowing organizations to exchange and comment on the drawings and documents detailing the product being manufactured and the processes used to do so, regardless of the authoring application used to create them.

The Java nature of the solution means that viewing and markup can take place across differing platforms and entirely within a web browser.

'When the need arose for CapacityWeb to implement viewing and markup functionality, we needed a product that was powerful, yet easy for people representing a broad set of disciplines to use,' said Scott Hazlett, COO and president at CapacityWeb.

This is done in the form of a detailed RFQ (Request for Quotation) that includes the project description (to include 3-D CAD models and 2-D drawings), the buyer's preference for supplier quality, and commercial terms.

• CapacityWeb's patent pending PrismLogicTM matching engine then utilizes over 600 data points to identify a list of Elitas' certified manufacturers with the right capabilities and quality processes that best fit the requirements of the RFQ.

• The shortlist of suppliers willing to bid on the RFQ is then submitted to the buyer for approval.

The buyer and the approved suppliers engage in a multi-stage collaborative process using the CapacityWeb's best-of-breed platform.

The first phase of this collaboration culminates with the buyer selecting the supplier for the job.

• The buyer selects the supplier that can provide best value across multiple parameters, the most important of them being quality, lead-time, price and risk mitigation.

• The buyer and supplier then jointly determine project milestones and delivery schedules.

CapacityWeb and its partners provide continued collaboration and value-added services through the life of the project.

Features of AutoVue for Java include: • View and Markup all 200+ office document, engineering drawing, and CAD file formats.

• True thin-client - Installation and maintenance are only performed on the server, not the client machines.

• Online server scalability and multiple server load balancing means that simply adding another server can accommodate an increased number of users and that ensure servers are being used at maximum efficiency.

• Intelligent, accurate rendering schemes, predictable performance and streamed compressed data transfers.

• The original file is never transmitted to the client, safeguarding your intellectual property • Optimal file size based on network bandwidth and load is automatically calculated giving you the highest possible level of productivity.

• Streaming and Interruptibility - The server transmits the data to the client as it is being rendered.

There is no need to wait for the document to finish rendering before you begin working on it.
